QUARTERLY SOC'S:
Deadline for Completion is Drawing Near

The FDA announced in August of 1998 that bottled water must be tested for the SOC's glyphosate, endothall, diquat and 2,3,7,8 tcdd-dioxin as specified in EPA regulations. The FDA has indicated that bottlers must complete four consecutive quarters of analysis for these parameters on finished product water by February, 2002. The IBWA has revised the model code to reflect this FDA monitoring schedule by requiring members to complete the four quarters of testing by December, 2001.

One set of the quarterly SOC's can be included in your annual test package so you will need to plan the best schedule to coordinate with the time your annual testing is due. To be in compliance with this schedule, testing must begin no later than March, 2001.

Call your laboratory representative to set up your testing schedule.
