REGULATORY NEWS

The EPA has issued the final rule for arsenic establishing a new Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The current MCL for arsenic was established in 1975 at a level of 50 parts per billion. The final rule will go into effect on January 1, 2006 and the new MCL will be 10 parts per billion.
